WHAT IS LEAKAGE CURRENT?
Leakage current occurs when the conductive parts of the device are out of the device and they contact with worn and damaged non-conductor parts or another conductive object.
WHAT IS A LEAKAGE CURRENT PROTECTION RELAY?
Leakage Current Protection relay is a device acts as a switch by opening when there is a surge between phase and neutral conductors. Obviously, it is a circuit control element that opens the circuit in the event of a surge in the circuit.
In case of leakage current passing through the circuit, some of the current passes through the neutral and some of it passes through the leakage current protection relay. This device is used in case of imbalance or undesirable situations that may occur in the circuit in this way (damage to the circuit or device, etc.) allows it to be prevented.
Leakage current protection relays do not create magnetic flux by carrying an equal amount of current in the system if there is no leakage current in the circuit. If leakage current occurs in the system, magnetic flux occurs in the system, as the equality between the amount of current carried in the system will be disturbed, and therefore the contacts will switch to the open position, Decommissioning the energy from the network.
There is also a test button on the device. Thanks to the test button, a short circuit is created between the phase and neutral conductors to test whether the device is working decently. You can access the Autocad drawing of the connection diagram from among the pictures.
